Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Alternate side is off. Meters aren't.
Street cleaning takes the day off. The meter and every other sign on the pole don't.
Tuesday, November 3 is Election Day. Alternate side parking is suspended. That's on NYC DOT's 2026 suspension calendar.
Here's the part that catches people. The meters are still on. DOT only lifts meter rules on major legal holidays, and Election Day isn't one. On every other holiday, only street cleaning takes the day off. Everything else on the sign still counts.
Getting around that day
Maybe you're driving to vote before work, or dropping someone off at their polling site. A morning off from moving the car is a gift. A meter ticket because you thought the whole day was off is not. Our parking ticket fines guide has what those cost.
Mark the next one too. Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11. Same deal: alternate side off, meters on.
Coordn8 is for that part. We'd rather you hear the rule from us than from the windshield. Drop a pin and see the block's street-cleaning schedule. With a membership, you can get a reminder one hour before it starts. Search an address, tap the pin, and you get alternate side parking plus the other posted rules for that curb.
Our New York launch target is January 1, 2027.
